It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and with the start of a new Pirate season expectations about what we can expect to be treated to at the ballpark this season apparently won’t be as exciting on the field as it will be in the stands, the concession stands. It’s nice to see ownership with their priorities in order because why else would anyone travel to the ballpark if the menu was the same ole same ole like what we’ll probably see on the field this season. At least I haven’t read or heard anything to the contrary. In fact, there was a story about how the Pirates payroll is often covered by ticket and food sales. Why else point out the changes and additions that have been made to the menu this year to get fannies in the park.  According to the story the Pirates will be serving up Pittsburgh food and drink this season, only thing is I don’t remember growing up eating BBQ Bacon Waffle Fries which if I’m reading this right is part of the new Pittsburgh foods being offered this season. You know the Pittsburgh foods, I remember eating growing up but I’m old are Isaley’s Chipped Ham BBQ, the skyscraper ice cream cone and Kennywood Potato Patch Fries. So, unless I missed it or it was just an oversight on the part of the person writing the article, that won’t be the Pittsburgh food on the menu this season. Now in addition to the BBQ Bacon Waffle Fries PNC Park will also feature a hot dog called the Chicago dog. Is that because the home opener is against the Cubs?  Can I still get a regular hot dog with Heinz mustard too? Now that’s Pittsburgh food. Throw in some peanuts and crackerjack and I won’t care if I never get back but apparently that’s a problem too. Major League Baseball will once again try something gimmicky to speed up the games. They must be thinking of the fans because who wants to sit around for hours wondering when the games going to end when we could be watching fireworks, right? Let’s Go Bucs!
