It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…woke up Sunday morning to the headline “NFL World Reacts To Ben Roethlisberger’s Performance vs. Lions” Hey got to admit even though the game was against a team that may be the first eliminated from the playoffs this year it looked very much like vintage Big Ben. During his first series Ben looked as nimble as he ever has when he had to scramble away from defenders to make a play which he did connecting with Eric Ebron that would have been a first down if Eric hadn’t drop the ball.  Oh, God don’t start that crap again. Then during the second series he went deep to Deonta Johnson for 40 some yards and didn’t drop the ball for a first down.  Another vintage Big Ben move was a pump fake, which even faked out the camera man when he threw a beautiful strike to Rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth for the TD. That was the first of two TD throws to Freiermuth who had people commenting as having a Heath Miller like performance. So, expect to hear the “Heath” chants at games again and not because it’s easier to pronounce than Freiermuth. Just ask Jesse James. Even Ju Ju brought back memories of Hines Ward’s toughness on a catch and run but again it was against the Lions who may be looking to next years draft already. But wouldn’t it be great if the Lions instead do become contenders this year? Then maybe we can put a little bit more stock in Big Ben and the Steelers performance Saturday night. It sure set social media ablaze with comments like “Roethlisberger is still an elite QB. He’s going to play until he’s 60. He’s Back!!!” Did I mention the game was against the Lions?
