…and another NFL draft is in the book. Did you watch any of the coverage? It seemed like it was the only thing anyone was talking about? Now, I love football, especially the NFL but I didn’t watch one second of the NFL draft. I listened or read all the expert opinions on who they felt the Steelers should take with their top choice. I heard about all the various mock drafts that were put together with reasons as to why the Steelers should take this person as opposed to that person. And now that it’s all over and done with it seems grades have to be handed out explaining why Pittsburgh did or didn’t do a good job. I’m sorry but all the speculation and all the analyst means nothing in the spring. We won’t know for sure until this fall. I know, I’m stating the obvious but its true. That bust you complain about now could be the next best thing since sliced bread while the sure bet could wind up collecting splinters on the bench. Until they hit the field we just won’t know. In the meantime we’ll search out stories or talking points that agree with our own point of view and hope that no matter what we hear, we’ll hope that the decisions the Steelers made were solid. At least I hope we will. Either way as The Happenings once sang, “see you in September.”
