It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and once again the name has been changed to confuse the innocent. The Burgettstown concert venue which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year may have started out as the Coca Cola Star Lake Amphitheater but the name Star Lake Amphitheater has been the only thing to stand the test of time. After about 10 years Coca Cola surrendered the name to the Post Gazette who then dropped Star Lake Amphitheater altogether and changed it to Pavilion but if you told someone you were going to see Tom Petty at the Post Gazette Pavilion you’d get a deer stuck in the headlights look. It wasn’t until you said Star Lake did the person understand where the show was going to be held. After Post Gazette, First Niagara took over the naming right’s and even kept the Pavilion part but the result was still the same. You didn’t say I’m going to First Niagara Pavilion you said Star Lake. Key Bank Pavilion soon followed with the same results and now after 30 years Star Lake has yet another new name but maybe this name will stick and the need to say Star Lake will end. Time will tell but in the year 2020 get ready to hear advertisements for concerts that will soon be coming to S&T Bank Music Park. So this summer when you say I’ve got tickets for the Black Crows at S&T Bank Music Park on Aug 1st not only may you have to explain that the Robinson brothers actually managed to mend there ways and put the band back together but you may still have to say Star Lake.
