…talk about a nail biter, I’m going to have to have someone else snap open my beer cans after watching the Steelers hold off the Ravens to win their 4th straight . A game that started with a classy move by the Ravens who had a moment of silence for the Tree of Life victims and families plus posted ‘We Stand with Pittsburgh’ on the big screen while Big Ben honored the shooting victims with a ‘stronger than hate’ cleats. You knew playing the Ravens in their house was going to be intense but seeing the Wizard the Wizard of Boz missing another extra point, the 4th and I think the most in the NFL this season was why the game went down to the wire.. Then Big Ben going down on his shoulder and not getting up after getting tackled by Darrius Smith while Ben was scrambling for a first down. To add insult to injury the play was called back due to an offensive hold that had the Steelers facing a 2nd and forever with backup Joshua Dobbs in at QB. But that guy must have ice in his veins and I guess the coaching staff knew that too when they made him the back up and sent Landry Jones packing because not only did he complete his first NFL pass on his first attempt, it was a 22 yard 1st down strike from the Ravens end zone to Ju Ju Smith-Schuster to keep the drive alive. Big Ben returns and proves he just got the wind knocked out of him because he and his shoulder put everything into a 51 yard completion to Jessie James the longest against the Ravens defense all year. James Conner who turns into Superman when he puts on a Steelers uniform is the first Steelers player to score 10 touchdowns in the first eight games of a season plus his 4th straight 100 yard rushing game making LeVeon Bell’s 7.7 million dollar gamble a bad bet but you know what they say about betting against the house, the house always wins. Of course we can’t wrap things up without a few words about the officiating. About a minute left before the half and deep in Ravens territory Ben forces one into Vance McDonald who comes down with the ball but the ground caused a fumble that Baltimore picked up ran in for what the officials said was a touchdown after an interception. Not sure what game they were watching because after a review there was no interception, there was no touchdown, Steelers ball. No time to celebrate though, Pittsburgh who improved to 5-2-1 has to deal with 6-2 Carolina on Thursday night Football. The good news, they play that game at Heinz field. Here we go Steelers here we go!
