It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and a new survey of the Greatest TV Shows of all time does not include anything before 1970. 2,000 adults surveyed for You Tube TV listed Friends as the best TV show of all time, followed by Seinfeld. The new survey in which respondents also said the 1980s and ’90s were the best decades for television. That was followed by the 2000s, the 2010s and only 10 percent of those surveyed considered the 70’s had the best shows so I wonder what the age group the 2000 respondents were in since only two made the list and nothing prior to 1970. MASH and Battlestar Galactica made it but which Galactica. The one that ran from 1978 to 79 or the one that ran from 2003 to 09? Just 7 percent said we’re currently in the best era for TV. Interestingly in our streaming age. 45 percent said they still have recordings of their favorite TV show episodes on DVDs or VHS tapes, and 92 percent of those people still occasionally watch them. Wow, when was the last time you watched a VHS tape? I got a gazillion of them but to be honest maybe a year ago I watched one and it was homemade. And yes I still have a workable VHS machine in fact two of them one on top of my cassette deck that still works and one under my turntable that still works and is hooked up, hell I even got a reel to reel if I really wanted to date myself. I don’t even watch DVD’s anymore…okay I bought the complete Sopranos series last year and that was the last time I used my DVD player. I stream Netflix 90% of the time. Got the Disney plus for the Get back Beatles special but those are the only streaming services I use besides YouTube. Now of the Top 20 Best TV Shows of All Time I watched a total of 6, Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier, MASH, The Simpsons, and Law and Order. I glanced at 3. Three’s Company, Battlestar Galactica, 1970’s verson and Family Guy. As for the rest I had no interest. I would have watched Game of Thrones if I had HBO and like I said, I’ve got Sopranos on DVD but that’s about it. Here they are in glorious black and white…
