It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and for the past week my cars been in the shop because a deer decided I needed to modify my front end but all he or she did was make things look worse. So, I have been at the mercy of a rental. The first thing I did when I got it home was to get adjusted to the car or adjust the car to fit me. The seat, mirrors, radio presets and pairing my phone to the blue tooth which took longer than it should have. But back to the radio presets, whoever had the rental before me had one set for the Pickle. Obviously a person of good taste. But no matter what you do to prepare there is always that one thing that you forget. Like the lights. I leave for work when it’s pitch dark, 2:45 in the morning. So I get in and start it up but can’t find the heat settings and can’t believe it’s not illuminating on the dash somewhere. Talk about a design flaw. Me not the car. I’ll explain. I grab my smart phone, hit up the flashlight to locate the controls all the while still amazed that the instrument panel wasn’t lit up. Gee do you think it might occur to me it’s because I didn’t turn on the headlights? No, it didn’t because I’m used to them coming on automatically and the driveway was somewhat illuminated by the flood light that comes on automatically at night. I didn’t realize the car headlights weren’t on until I hit the street. So now I got the smart phone flashlight searching to see how to turn on the headlights which I find on the turn signal switch. I guess for future reference I should do this while there is still light out and not in the middle of the night. Then I thought the bright lights weren’t working. It took a few miles to figure out that unlike the headlights unless I set it, the bright lights turn on automatically but dim when another car approaches then back on after it passes which is a cool feature but they still have a tendency to dim for no reason and come back on. Welcome to rent a car fun. Speaking of which, have you ever been in a rental sitting at a red light and the driver punches it in reverse back up the hill you just came down yelling “rent a car fun!!!!” Freaked me out but thankfully I can laugh about it today. Can’t wait to get my car back. I’m having too much fun.
