…and to be honest after seeing how the Steelers answered Philadelphia’s touchdown Sunday, I actually entertained the idea of a possible shootout. First off, a touchdown pass from Claypool to Watt? And not the Watt everyone talks about, no, Derek Watt. TJ’s Brother. Sure, they talk about him but not in a glowing way it’s more like, TJ’s got a brother who plays for the Steelers? That’s alright for not knowing because he hardly ever plays. He’s a full back and the Steelers offense hardly ever uses a fullback but if you’re into special teams then you may have heard of Derek Watt. But talk about a trickeration of a play call from the much-maligned offensive coordinator Matt Canada. For a guy who reportedly doesn’t like trickeration plays he finally pulled a rabbit out of his hat that may have saved his job if only for the fact it was the only play that may have saved his job. Now what’s Canada going to do? The Steelers just traded Claypool to Chicago for a 2nd round pick in the 2023 draft. I guess it wouldn’t have mattered much anyway since after evening things up with the Eagles it was all downhill for your black and gold who had more penalties than first downs. Then you had the Steelers defensive secondary deciding to wave the white flag early and didn’t put a lid on Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. The Eagles Quarterback launched 4 long range missiles, 3 to a guy by the name of A. J. Brown for touchdowns. Okay now for some bright moments, Nick Sciba got his first career field goal. Who? Nick Sciba. A guy who set records in college was working at a seafood joint in South Carolina until he got a call from the Steelers because the Wizard of Boz was sidelined with a groin injury. Sciba made good on two field goals and one extra point and kicked off four times but wished he could have reeled one back in because the ball rolled out of bounds which is a penalty on a kickoff. But those were your highlights, and the Steelers are still winless in Philadelphia since, to borrow an Alby Oxenrider from channel 11 phrase, the Steelers are still winless in Philadelphia since Moby dick was a minnow. And now Mike Tomlin’s window of avoiding his first ever losing season as a Steelers head coach is now down to just 3 games. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s enough duct tape to seal up all the holes that’s tanking this sinking ship’s season. The good news is that the Steelers have a bye next Sunday, but I hear they are already underdogs.
