The fear of the number 13 is one thing but if you put a Friday in front of it, look out. Lock the doors, pull the shades and slowly watch the grains of sand pass through the hourglass until the day passes. You might say it’s probably a good thing we only have one Friday the 13th to deal with this year but it might be the one to worry about the most because in some years Friday the 13th could occur 3 times but not this year so it could be especially unlucky. According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Ashville, North Carolina, betcha’ didn’t think we had one of them did yah? But according to them 17 to 21 million people really fear Friday the 13th. It’s estimated that 800 to 900 million bucks in business is lost on Friday the 13th because some folks won’t even get out of bed. But hey if that’s you I guess the weekend will start a little earlier for you and is that really a bad thing? Probably, since you’ll be lying in bed with the covers pulled over your head watching the grains of sands pass through an hourglass like the days of our lives. That used to be a soap opera, right?
