…and here we are less than a month away from the 1st day of Spring 2022 and despite the groundhog’s prediction of six more weeks of winter I feel the weather has been fairly mild since he popped his head out of that tree trunk in Punxsutawney. But apparently the folks at the Farmers Almanac are even gloomier than Phil and say you might not want to put your winter coat into storage just yet and prepare to buckle down until May. The Almanac, which has about an 80% success rate with it’s forecasts, which is better than the ground hog says we’re due for a “backward spring”. That means we’ll start off cold on the first day of spring, but the northern states will warm up in April, though the south will stay cool. That’s bad news if you have spring fever and a college student ready for spring break. According to the long range prediction word is the second half of May will be unseasonably cool across large parts of the nation. Many will likely refer to it as a ‘backward spring.” No I’ll refer to it as “bull crap” if we’re knocking on the door of June and I can still see my breath. Again we’re less than a month away Mother Nature, don’t you go blowing it in the 4th quarter. We’re counting on you.
