It’s The Kielbasa Kid…

…and one last thing on the Super bowl, why does Los Angeles even have a football team? Okay I’ll do you one better why does La La land have two football teams? The reason I ask is that the ratings for the recent football game came in and nobody in Los Angeles even bothered to tune in! Well, not many. They didn’t even make the top 10 in cities that did tune into the Big Game. TV ratings for Sunday’s Super Bowl were up six percent from last year, with an estimated 101.1 million people watching as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals. Another 11.2 million people streamed the game, putting the total audience at 112.3 million people, that combined audience up 12.6 percent over last year. The Bengals’ hometown, Cincinnati, had the highest audience share in the country with a 46.1 rating followed by Detroit at 45.9. probably since Mathew Stafford used to be Detroit’s quarterback before signing with the Rams in the off season. Pittsburgh was right behind with a 45.6 rating and the participation of two players from western Pennsylvania may have help contribute a few points with Aron Donald from Penn Hills and Tyler Boyd from Clarion in the game on opposing teams but both former Pitt Panther players. Coming in at number 4 was Columbus Ohio which is just up the street from Cincinnati and they pulled in a 45.4 rating while Kansas City had a 44.6 rating to round out the top 5. Milwaukee, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia and even Jacksonville beat out LA viewers despite their team being in and winning the Super Bowl. The city of angles didn’t even make it in the top 10. So after many years of Los Angeles not having a football team the city now is home to two of them. Makes me wonder how many locals even know they have a football team let alone one being a Super Bowl Championship team. Again why was it so important for the NFL to have a presence in Los Angeles? I’ll hang up and listen for your answer off the air.
