It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…well if you were looking for a House of Horrors on Halloween you didn’t have to look to far for one called the Mistake on the Lake. It’s Baker Mayfield’s home and I guess he let’s the Cleveland Browns play their. It’s where the Steeler’s tricks almost overshadowed their treats. One trick made you realize how important and specialized a kicker can be to a team. It was when they tried to use a trick play on what would have been a treat if it worked but instead of going for a 28 yard field goal they decided to use the Wizard of Boz as a quarterback on a play that blew up in their face. Actually it blew up in Boswell’s face who was knocked into next week and out of the game on a hit that should have been a roughing penalty according NFL rules analyst for CBS Gene Staratore. It’s not the first time Boswell was called upon for a trick play but that was 3 years ago against Denver and that resulted in a treat. Not having a field goal kicker changed the way the Steelers could play the rest of the game because their punter is no field goal or extra point kicker and not much better at kickoffs either. Thankfully the Steeler’s offense came up with enough big plays from Friermuth’s toe tap game winning touchdown grab to Najee Harris leaping for the end zone while the Steelers defense gave the Browns just enough trouble to escape with a 15-10 win which dropped Cleveland into the cellar of the AFC North, a half game behind Pittsburgh who take a 3 game win streak against the Bears next week. The only thing that looks bad is that it’s a Monday night affair and I hate night games but I’ll be their in front of my big screen TV with my terrible towel hoping for the best and yawning at work the next day.
