It’s The Kielbasa Kid…

…poor Mason Rudolph, the Steelers back up quarterback. He just doesn’t get the love anymore. Not saying that he ever did after his unheralded start when Big Ben went down with the elbow injury that ended his season in 2019. That was also the year of the Duck, Delvin Duck Hodges who captured the Steelers Nation attention for about a minute and now is capturing the attention of Ottawa Redblack fans of the Canadian Football League. During the off-season the Steelers brought in Dwayne Haskins from Washington who has yet to even dress for a game. The latest red hot rumor around town is how the Steelers could get Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers as Ben’s heir apparent. But still no love for Mason Rudolph and is nowhere to be found in that conversation. He’s also nowhere to be found in Cleveland defensive back Myles Garrett’s Halloween display set up in his front yard. Garrett helped give Mason Rudolph his unwanted 15 minutes of fame when he grabbed his helmet and smacked Rudolph in the head with it in a game at Cleveland. If anyone should be in his display it’s Mason Rudolph. Some are calling it the NFL’s best Halloween display. His Cleveland home is decorated with several tombstones that feature the names of NFL quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson of Baltimore, Kyler Murray of Arizona, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and even a guy who has yet to really make a name for himself, Mac Jones. Who? Mac Jones. He’s now the starting quarterback at New England. So where’s Mason Rudolph? Yeah he’s only a back up but Myles, “he’s the guy that got you suspended without pay for that helmet hit.” Poor Mason Rudolph, he just doesn’t get the love anymore.
