It’s the Kiebasa Kid…

…with something that caught my eye the other day, TV sitcom catch phrases. Fox did a survey about the Most Popular Sitcom Catchphrases of all time and according to them here is what they listed as the Most Popular Sitcom Catchphrases of all time not necessarily in any order of favorability. They listed “Whatchu talkin’ ‘bout Willis?” – Arnold Jackson, “Diff’rent Strokes” “Bang, zoom, to the moon, Alice!” – Ralph Kramden, “The Honeymooners” “Dyn-o-mite!” – J.J. Evans, “Good Times” “Ayyyy!” – Fonzie, “Happy Days” “Shazbot!” and “Na-Nu Na-Nu” – Mork, “Mork & Mindy” “Norm!” – various, “Cheers” “Hello, Newman.” – Jerry Seinfeld, “Seinfeld” “Lucy, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!” – Ricky Ricardo, “I Love Lucy” “Hey hey hey!” — Fat Albert, “Fat Albert” “You big dummy!” — Fred Sanford, “Sanford and Son” “How you doin’?” — Joey Tribbiani, “Friends” “D’oh!” — Homer Simpson “Oh, my God! They killed Kenny!” — Stan and Kyle, “South Park”. Now that got me to thinking, what are some of the Greatest TV catch Phrases of all time, not just sitcoms? So thanks to Google I found a list that included the famous “and that’s the way it is, from Walter Cronkite. Heeer’s Johnny! Which was Ed McManns introduction to the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson which was famously used by Jack Nicholson in the move “The Shining”? How about, “Come on Down” from the Price is Right? “Then there’s “The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat from ABC’s Wide World of Sports. “Ruh Roh” from the Jetsons, “Danger Will Robinson” from Lost in Space or “this tape will self destruct in five seconds” from Mission Impossible. Is that used in the movie version because I’ve never seen the movie version and that’s a topic for another day. Name a popular TV show or movie that you’ve never seen. For me I’ve never watched a full episode of The Big Bang Theory. I’ve only seen snippets and that’s because I was channel surfing. I’ve never watched “Survivor or any reality show for that matter. I’ve never seen “Little House on the Prairie” or the Brady Bunch but I know where the catch phrase “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” came from. “Oh, and just one more thing,” is my favorite catch phrase of all and from one of my all time favorite cop shows, Colombo! “. Followed by “book ‘em Dano and who loves yea”! You gotta figure out where those two came from on your own.
