…and I guess you don’t have to go to the fair to get fair food anymore because it apparently has gone mainstream, at least for one restaurant and who knows maybe more. I met my son for lunch on Saturday and among the many appetizers on the menu were a couple of deep fried items that caught our eye. Deep fried bacon and deep fried deviled eggs. Well you know we had to try them. I mean bacon goes with everything right. Even the deep fried deviled eggs were topped with a little sliver of bacon. The deviled eggs tasted like deviled eggs but the bacon just didn’t taste like bacon to me. My son and wife liked them but for me it felt like I was eating a stick of deep fried grease with a hint of bacon. They should have come with a couple of towelettes because my fingers were not finger licking good. Maybe that’s why it was served with a little cup of some kind of honey glaze that you dipped it in. I could feel my arteries solidify with every bite. I must admit it was an interesting spin on how to serve bacon and eggs.
