It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and you knew it was going to be a long afternoon whenever your punter is the best player on the field and the other teams running back with a name right out of Fortnite has more yardage with two minutes left in the 3rd quarter then your teams entire offense. You knew it’s going to be a long afternoon when your teams quarterback is throwing interceptions to a guy who said he was at best a decent quarterback despite leading his offense to 52 points a week earlier but was coming up empty through nearly three quarters today. You knew it was going to be a long afternoon when the team that brings you back down to earth is under.500 and on a 5 game losing streak and goes by the name of Jacksonville. Good thing the Steelers didn’t have the Le’Veon Bell distraction going into the game this week and were able to concentrate otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to turn that long afternoon into a win. Despite all the bad the Steelers offense displayed, their defense was able to keep them within striking distance and eventually slow down the running back with a name right out of Fortnite. They were able to make enough plays to get the ball back for the offense to make amends for their poor play and was able to take advantage of that long afternoon and find a way to eventually take the lead with just 5 ticks left on the clock and hold on for the improbable win. So, Pittsburgh heads home with a 7-2-1 record and with just enough time to get ready for another road trip to face another team that’s been having a disappointing season. Only this time they will need to bring along the oxygen masks for a showdown with Denver next Sunday afternoon in the mile high city. I hope that game doesn’t turn into another long afternoon but if it does and if there are any ticks left on the clock, you’ve got to like Pittsburgh’s chances.
