It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…back in 1973 Steely Dan sang “I’m never going back to my old school” and I really took it to heart. I graduated from high school in 1973 and never looked back as I began to plot my course for a career in radio which began in February the following year. The thought of going to any class reunions since then would cross my mind whenever the invite would come in the mail but that was as far as it got. It wasn’t until the 40th class reunion I broke down and thought why not and was the first time I did go back to “my old school” because they set it up that you could take a tour of the the old school. This past weekend was our 45th class reunion and I hope everyone had a good time because once again, for me, it was just another passing thought. It’s not for the lack of friends in my graduating class who were good to see and reminisce with at the 40th but it was a bit disappointing not to see guys you used to hang out with and don’t keep in touch with anymore who were no shows. Watch, they were the ones who showed up this year wondering what happened to me. Maybe the 50th will get me off my butt or it will again just be another passing thought. My senior year in high school started out in 1972 the same year I took another song to heart, Alice Coopers, “Schools Out” and like the last word in the lyrics say… completely!
