…and why is it that a lot of the stuff I like isn’t good for you? Take hot dogs. Not only do I like the processed nitrate filled mystery meat but I also like it cooked on a grill until it’s got a blackened burnt look about it. I know it’s not good for you to eat blackened burnt hot dogs off a grill but that’s the way I like them. So Sunday I’m at the annual family reunion picnic not only putting stripes on this rather large looking frankfurter but getting it close enough to the fire to give it that really burnt look. Now this is a process that takes longer to cook but worth the wait. Apparently I’m not the only person who a connoisseur of the blackened and burnt tastes of a hot dog. I only left it alone long enough to get a bun which I filled with some mustard and onion mind you but when I returned to the grill my masterpiece was gone, snatched right off the grill. Keep in mind there were a few other dogs a cooking at the time and there were no names attached to any including mine but who knew someone would come by and find my blackened burnt nitrate filled mystery meat the most desirable of the bunch. Don’t they know that stuffs not good for you?
