Vacations all I ever wanted…

…vacation got to get away. Go Go’s circa 1982 but yeah the unofficial start to summer is almost here. Got any plans? How about riding the rails this year. It’s like taking a cruise on land. Instead of being surrounded by water you’re surrounded by an American landscape you don’t see from the front seat of your car which is something else you don’t see much of while riding the rails, cars. A few years ago I talked my wife into taking a vacation trip to Florida on the train and had a blast. Sure it took a day to get their as opposed to a 2 hour flight but we had our own private sleeping car which came with all the comforts of home. The reclining seats converted to beds. The cabin had its own bathroom, with sink, vanity and shower. Electrical outlets, climate control, video and a sweeping picture window to give you a different view of the country side and because we had the sleeping car, all meals were included in the dining car or if you preferred taken back to your room. It’s like the hotel before you get to the hotel and besides when was the last time you went to sleep in Virginia only to wake up in someone’s back yard in Savannah Georgia. Plus your vacation doesn’t end when you leave since you get to resume your cruise back home and besides if riding the rails wasn’t fun Kennywood  would have gone out of business years ago.
