Mothers Day is a holiday

…that was first celebrated in 1908 in a Gafton West Virginia Church the same year the US Congress rejected the proposal to make Mothers Day an official holiday, joking that they would also have to proclaim a “Mother-in-law’s Day, funny how nothing changes with those guys. Actually there is a Mother-In-Law Day but that’s a story for another Day. Mother’s day didn’t become a national holiday until 1914 designating it to be celebrated on the second Sunday in May which happens to be this Sunday. Now if you’re hurting for idea’s on how to celebrate mom’s big day there’s no shortage of businesses ready to help. Like Tim Horton’s who is offering a bouquet of 24 donut holes on a stick wrapped up in a bow. Then you’ve got Hooters free entrée offer with a drink purchase, bet they don’t offer that for Fathers Day. I’m just asking for a friend.
