It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and I can’t believe Iron City never thought of this. A company that would produce commemorative beer cans celebrating Pittsburgh sporting events from Mazaroski’s famous home run to win the 1960 world series for the Pirates to the Steelers Super Bowl victories and  Penguin Stanley Cup Championships. Many decorate the Man Cave in my humble abode. The one thing that the beer company never did, at least I don’t remember it happening was to take the ice that the Zamboni cleared from either the Igloo or PPG Paints arena melt it down to brew a commemorative beer like the Tampa Bay Lighting are doing with the home ice in their building. Granted the Lightning got their decisive win over Montreal on that ice but not without winning other games on that ice too. Even Mario Lemieux felt the Ice of the Igloo precious enough to have some of it melted down to fill a vial that he poured over ice of PPG Paints arena before the Pens first game in their new building for good luck. They say the ice that the hockey players spilled their blood and guts on to win the cup  this year will be melted down to make a Lighting commemorative beer and will be sterilized and drinkable. That may be well and good but I don’t care how sterilized and drinkable they say it would be. The only place that it would be destined for in my house would be a spot on my shelf in the Man Cave and not my gut. My luck I’d crack one open and a players tooth would fall out.
