It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and here we knocking on the door of another wedding season that was tempered a bit last year due to Covid. Okay, it was tempered a lot and probably wont be as robust this season as in years past which may cause some couples who just cant wait taking the elope option which means no family  involvement. Certainly couples can go the other route and involve families but keeping it very simple like just having the parents of the bride and groom present at the ceremony which brings me to a story that has been making the rounds on social media. It’s the story of a dad who saved for years to have enough money to give his daughter a nice wedding. When the day arrived the father had socked away $35,000 but the only problem was dad didn’t know the day arrived because his daughter decided to elope. So dad decided to use that money on himself. He/’s been driving around on an old set of wheels and decided to get a new car and also take a vacation. Now his daughter found out about all the money that her father had saved for her wedding and feels that she should be entitled to it and is mad at what he did. His ex wife is ticked off too but the father went on to say that he never told the daughter it was a fund for her to use on whatever. He said he paid for her college and was planning to fund her wedding but beyond that he didn’t plan on paying her way through life. He posted this on reddit and everyone is in his corner and so am I. To me the daughter lost anything monetary once she decided to elope and not to involve her or his family but I hope they have a wonderful life together.
