…the one thing I could never understand is if you’ve been married once, why would you want to get married again? I’m sure there are many reasons to do so but I’ve yet to hear one that makes sense to me. The reason I bring this up is the fact that Nicolas Cage just quietly got married for the fifth time to his girlfriend, Riko Shibata. Aside from the fact that she’s only 26 and he’s 57, you’d think that his four previously failed marriages might have been a deterrent for his new bride, but that’s obviously not the case. Who knows? Maybe the fifth times the charm! So … would you ever consider marrying someone who had four prior failed marriages? Sure, it’s Hollywood … but five marriages is a lot, even by celeb standards. Well, for some but not for the late Zsa Zsa Gabor. Zsa Zsa changed partners more than some folks change there socks. She walked down the isle 9 times. Who knows, if she lived longer she might have made it ten. Elizabeth Taylor was right behind Zsa Zas’s love for wedding bells and was married eight times and twice to the same man, Richard Burton. Larry King said I do eight times to seven different women so I guess he married the same woman twice but that’s nothing compared to Richard Pryor who was married 7 times to 5 different women, yep, he married two women twice. Martin Scorsese: The Good Fellas director, James Cameron: The Avatar director, Dynasty actress Joan Collins and even the late Kenny Rogers gambled with marriage 5 times. Rounding out the list of most Hollywood marriages include Kelsey Grammar, Pamela Anderson, and Barbara Walters who cut the cake 4 times and apparently to one twice. Now Jennifer Lopez was on her way to number 4 but she may be having second thoughts about Alex Rodriguez and recently called off their engagement.. But like marrying twice maybe she could get reengaged twice to the same guy. The late WC Fields was once asked why he never married. He said “I was in love with a beautiful blonde once. She drove me to drink. That’s the one thing I’m indebted to her for”.
