…and I’ll bet they’re not the first and probably wont be the last but a girl scout troop got themselves banned from selling Girl Scout Cookies Outside Of Marijuana Dispensary in Michigan. They were doing brisk business too! Instead of banned I think the girls should have gotten some kind of merit badges for coming up with a great marketing idea. The members of the Oakland County Girl Scouts set up shop and sold over 1,000 boxes of cookies in six hours outside of the Green House of Walled Lake Cannabis store. Normally Girl Scouts set up shop outside of a food store to sell their cookies but the problem with that is competition from what the food store offers. And it’s not that the Cannabis store shooed the girls away it was the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan. They caught wind of the sale and put an end to that and banned other troops from selling outside of marijuana dispensaries. I guess they were afraid of the optics but what optics? Providing a service to people into the hippy lettuce craving something sweet?. 1000 boxes of girl scout cookies in six hours! That’s amazing and talk about word of mouth too. I’ll bet there were more than just a few stoners who heard about the girl scout cookie sale only to go away disappointed when they went to pick up their script’s and couldn’t get any Tagalongs, Do-si-dos or Thin Mints.
