…spilling coffee on the counter behind me because I left my spill proof mug at home sitting next to the coffee maker, filled with coffee ready to take with me like I do every morning, except for today. I didn’t notice it missing until I reached for it while driving in this morning and man talk about a bummed out feeling when reaching down for it only to feel and empty cup holder and here’s the kicker, when I left the house and before I got into the car I realized I left my briefcase in the house so I went back for it but coffee never entered my mind. I don’t drink it right away because its too hot and I’m not going to sue myself if I spill it all over myself. So what I do is loosen the top and leave if off for about a half hour into my ride, then I tighten the top again but only at a red light, in fact the junction of 48 and 51 in Rostraver. It’s like clockwork except for this morning. Then my thoughts turn to hoping there are still Styrofoam cups next to the coffee maker since we’ve been working with a Skelton crew since March, not many coffee drinkers anymore and I’m not use to using Styrofoam so when I sat it down I hit the counter behind me thanking god I had a stack of paper towels next to the spill and it was no where near anything electrical, the engineer frowns on that. Meanwhile I went through a pot in no time. I guess because the cup doesn’t keep it as hot and it goes down a lot quicker. Talk about buzzing like a bee. I’m just glad I didn’t hurt myself bouncing down the hallway. Nothing like a wall jumping out in front of you.
