…and last Wednesday was “Make Your Dream Come True Day. They say its the day to take the first step to making it happen. Of course buying a Powerball or Mega Lottery ticket won’t necessarily make it happen but it’s the first step to it possibly becoming a reality. I know it gets the gears turning inside my head with all the possibilities of, what if… spinning around. I know that was the case last Friday when I bought a ticket for that nights drawing and the one on Saturday night. But here’s how often I play the numbers. I went to pay with my card and found out you can only use cash. Who knew? Well people who always play the numbers. It’s weird that I don’t because my dad played the numbers before numbers were even legal. I remember going to a Bookie Joint with him once. Guys standing in front of chalk boards filled with numbers listening for race results in the middle of the afternoon. Yeah, he loved his numbers but it really never did anything for me, except when the payout gets to be as high as it is right now. It’s amazing how those dreams kick in the minute you have what you feel are the winning numbers in your hand. Because their Mom’s lucky numbers, they got to hit…. right? Then the next day I look at all the winning numbers and stare in disbelief that not one of the winning numbers are my mom’s lucky numbers. Not one! The same thing happened the following day. But there’s always tomorrow right? Well, maybe Friday because I forgot to buy a ticket for Wednesday’s drawing. Oh well, I was one less person holding up the line and besides you don’t need the extra competition right? Besides it turns out it could be déjà vu all over again for me this weekend. The Mega’s on Friday and the Power Ball didn’t hit so another chance is Saturday. Just got to go an buy another pair of tickets before Friday night so I can stare at my ticket in disbelief the following day and on Sunday too and continue to wonder why my moms lucky numbers aren’t so lucky.
