It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and can we talk Steelers football? Is that alright? So the Steeler’s went into last night’s game with the most rest between games since Thanksgiving. Remember they were supposed to play after just 4 days after crushing Jacksonville but covid ravaged the Ravens and the game was moved to Sunday afternoon for a weird 1:15 kickoff only to have the game moved again, this time to a weirder 4 pm kickoff on a Tuesday afternoon. Talk about a start stop, start stop, week that turned out to be a game that Pittsburgh almost lost. Then they follow that 5 days later with their first loss of the year against Washington then 6 days later came their 2nd loss of the year against Buffalo. But they said this week would be different, this week would be the most normal for the team. One that gave them 8 days between games to prepare for the lowly Bungles who went into the game with just two wins on the season. So, if the Steelers had any interest in getting back on track and play a game like a team who once had an 11 game win streak going this would be the game. Right? Wrong. Big Ben should have been intercepted on the first play from scrimmage. Don’t worry, that would come later, along with a fumble and another fumble this time by Ju Ju and before you knew it the former top seed in the AFC was down 17-0 at the half. Maybe it’s time someone talked to Ju Jul about his pre game Tik-Tok dancing although it didn’t seem to be an issue during their 11 game win streak. To think at one point there was actually MVP talk surrounding Big Ben and resting players when the games became meaningless toward the end of the season. Well, we’re at the end of the season and games are not meaningless. The Steelers who may have punched their ticket to the playoffs are no longer the top seed in the AFC have yet to lock up the division and could possibly head into the post season as a Wild Card. Course maybe that’s the game plan, use a little of that psychological warfare. Get that bullseye off your back, limp into the playoffs and have the other teams take you lightly on your way to the Super bowl. Yeah, wacky thinking on my part but it is 2020 and if this keeps up, the only ticket that will be punched to the Super bowl for Pittsburgh is if they buy one.
