…and can we talk Steelers Football? Is that alright?… …with the line backing corps decimated with injuries and now the covid, a running game hoping to get a spark from the return of James Conner and Maurkice Pouncy at center and the head coach threatening to replace players who continue to drop the ball, the Steelers who dropped their 1st game of the year last week went into Buffalo and dropped their second against a team who unlike the Steelers looks to be heading in a different direction. Despite 11 wins a lot of people were still not convinced to say that the Steelers were legit. Some folks began predicting another Tomlin collapse. Well, the Steelers didn’t do anything to change those concerns Sunday night. The drops started on the first play from scrimmage when Dionte Johnson extended his league lead to 12 before getting replaced in the 1st half. It’s never a good day when punter Jordan Berry starts breaking more sweat then anyone else. The spark in the running game never really ignited an offense who managed to make it a one score game but by then the Steelers defense was running out of gas. Despite setting a new NFL record in having a sack in 70 straight games and coming up with two picks but had no answer for Stefan Diggs in the second half and now find themselves buried under a two game losing streak and no longer with the best record in the AFC. That belongs to the Chiefs who helped the black and gold get into the playoffs for the first time in three years after beating Miami earlier in the day. Not exactly the kind of momentum you would expect from a team who won 11 straight and with 3 games left on the schedule they are in serious need of a new GPS.
