It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and man was it nice to see Penguin hockey again. Listening to Mike Lange and Phil Borque calling the play by play was great even though there was no way to sync them up to the action that was unfolding on the TV. Although I must admit I was feeling a bit nostalgic and was listening to Paul McCartney’s Wings Over America live concert album prior to the start of the game and during some of the first period so having Mike and Phil synced up was no big deal. Like all Penguin fans I’m a little disappointed in the outcome of the game. I don’t think many folks who know what their talking about picked the Pens to sweep the series with most figuring Montreal being the 12th seed may win one. Well, let’s hope they got their one or waiting for Pittsburgh sports to return will be a big disappointment. I will say the playing in a bubble concept seems to be working for Hockey and the NBA and maybe the NFL should also consider it too. Obviously Major League Baseball’s rejection of that concept hasn’t worked out to well with some teams struggling to stay healthy with more than one voice wondering whether baseball will even be able to complete a 60 game season. Hey maybe that will help the Pirates out. They may be struggling on the field but if they remain the healthiest it may not matter how many games they win to get into the post season. I think it’s called “Survival of the Fittest” but I don’t think there’s a trophy for that. Well, not yet. Stay tuned.
