Motown Records Founder Contributes Millions To The Motown Museum Expansion!

The Motown Museum in Detroit is receiving a large gift from the man that founded the Motown Records label! Berry Gordy is giving four-million-dollars to a project announced back in 2016 to expand the museum. The 50-million-dollar project has also received donations from Detroit businesses including Ford Motor Company. The Motown label was started by Gordy in 1959 and then moved to Los Angeles in 1972. The 60th Anniversary of the label will be highlighted the weekend of September 21st, and will feature a tribute to Gordy with a concert by the Four Tops, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and other Motown artists!¬† Long live “Hitsville, USA!”
