It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…you know what the one event is that I look forward too each and every 4th of July? It’s not the picnic’s, parades and fireworks which I partake in as much as possible but the event that I look forward to the most and what my wife calls disgusting and maybe you do to but it’s the annual Nathans Hot Dog eating contest. I actually enjoy watching these jag offs stuffing their face to see who can consume the most hot dogs in 10 minutes. In fact, the Paddy Power an Irish Book Maker is offering 1-9 odds that Joey Jaws Chestnut will win this year’s contest again. I wonder if you can wager on that at the Rivers Casino sports book? Last year, he slammed 74 hot dogs to keep the crown going into this year’s challenge and has won the Mustard belt 11 times. Nathans has been holding the contest since July 4th 1916 when four immigrants held a hot dog eating contest at the Famous stand on Coney Island to settle an argument about who was the most patriotic. Never figured hot dogs stood for patriotism but there you go. I guess their just as American as Apple Pie. But yeah I’ll be rooting for Joey to win his 12th Mustard Belt this year.
