A new gallop poll finds that the number one reason people are interested in smoking weed is not to get high but for medical reasons. 85% listed using it for the Treatment of chronic pain as the number one reason. Coming in right behind at 82% is Mental-health improvement followed by the treatment of minor injuries at 81%. 77% would like to use it as a sleep aid and 74% said for relaxation. Less than 50% would be interested in using it as a party drug or having a good time with friends and family but not by much with 48% saying that’s what they would use it for. They even asked if folks would be interested in using it to enhance spirituality and only 28% would consider it. Overall 65% of Americans now consider smoking marijuana to be morally acceptable. In fact Willie Nelson who just played Key bank Pavilion last Saturday night was on Jimmy Fallon’s show last week and talked about how it helped him break a bad habit, 3 packs of cigarettes a day and drinking anything in front of him. So after a collapsed lung and battles with pneumonia he realized he wasn’t getting high from those Chesterfields and replaced them joints. He just celebrated his 86th birthday this past April.
