It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…one month from today marks the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon, July 20, 1969 and for me as I’m sure for many others was one of those, “do you remember what you were doing kind of moments”. An estimated 500 million people worldwide watched the event and was the largest television audience for a live broadcast at that time. For me I was at my next-door neighbors with a guy I grew up with and who was really into astronomy and we watched it all unfold on his portable 13” TV set. Well, 50 years later Krispy Kreme is marking the 50th anniversary of the moon landing by filling their doughnuts with their Classic Kreme or Chocolate Kreme cream that will be given away for free this Saturday. Why this Saturday? Why not on the actual anniversary of the landing which is July 20th. And what does a doughnut have to do with a moon landing. Maybe if the moon had rings, I could see the doughnut representing a ring. And why fill it with Chocolate or their Classic Kreme? Everyone knows the moon is made cheese. Why not a Cream Cheese filled doughnut? Get marketing on the phone. Of course, there are those who think the government made the whole thing up and I think they belong to the Flat Earth Society but I’ll bet they will be the first in line for their free doughnut.
