It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and its estimated that American adults will wager 6 Billion dollars on the Superbowl but there will be no gambling talk during the Superbowl broadcast. CBS who will broadcast the game this year said “we’ll have none of that.” There will be no talk of gambling during the pregame and no talk of sports gambling during the game despite that fact that sports gambling have been legalized in a few states including Pennsylvania. It doesn’t matter that nearly 5 billion was wagered illegally on last years Superbowl. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo won’t be mentioning that the Patriots are 2.5 favorites on Sunday or that the over/under is 57.5. But you can head down to your local casino and try your luck on that plus the gazillion prop bets that you can make at legal sports books like Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Prop bets are like who will win the coin toss, how long with the national anthem last, will the game go into overtime, who will score first and will it come from a field goal, touchdown, punt return, interception return or one on the kickoff or fumble. In fact I remember Superbowl parties from days gone by where you would put all the scoring chances on slips of paper and put them in a hat and for a buck you would pull one out for a chance at winning the pot. Then put the slips of paper back in the hat for a chance to win the pot on the next scoring drive. But at the casinos you can wager on just about anything. There is even an over/under on how many times Giesel Bundchen, Tom Brady’s wife will be shown on TV during the broadcast and the line on that is 1.5. You’ve got to take the over on that one, don’t you?
