It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and the long wait before the Steelers begin their playoff run against the Jaguars at Heinz field is almost over but if you were to believe the comments after their first game in which they beat the Browns 21-18 back in September they should be sitting home getting ready for the April NFL Draft. One person wrote in the comment section of a local paper, “if this is the best we have, this team has Zero chance of even winning the division let alone the SB.” Another comment, “Ben is at best an average QB” or this one, “Bell looked terrible, if this is all they can do with the Browns, it will be a long season.” and “looks like Bell was still smoking his weed while he was holding out. Too bad he didn’t suffer a career ending injury. What a bum!” And those were comments after a Steelers win. I can’t imagine the vitriol the so called Steeler fans wrote after each of the Steelers 3 losses this year. That’s right, just 3 losses and may have only been 2 if not for a touchdown that was overturned by video review which is why New England has home field advantage in the playoffs but that is and was a whole other rant. No, the wait is over and a little paybacks are in order. First Sunday against the Jags and a week later at New England, if the Pats beat the Titans which everyone seems to feel they will. But don’t hold your breath for another New England Superbowl win if history or karma has anything to say about it. Since the days of Y2K New England and Alabama have each won 5 championships yet the two teams have never been champions in the same season. And since the college football playoffs Alabama and New England have alternating titles every other year. Ohio State won the college football title in 2014 while the Patriots won the Superbowl. In 2015 it was Alabama for the college football title while the Broncos won the Superbowl. In 2016 Clemson won the College football title while the Patriots won the Superbowl. Now in 2017 Alabama is once again on top while the 2017 Superbowl winner is tbd…”here we go Steelers here we go!”
