It’s the Kielbasi Kid…

…wondering if the city of Buffalo is going to hold a parade for the Bills after they made the NFL playoffs for the first time in 17 years? The fans may show up after thousands showed up at the airport after their playoff loss to Jacksonville last Sunday. Meanwhile a parade was held for the 0-16 Cleveland Browns  and between 2,500 and 3,200 people showed up for that. Do you think Pittsburgh should have held a parade for the Pirates after they ended 20 years of losing back in 2013? Not only that but they actually won a playoff game to advance to the NLDS but lost the 5 game series to the Cardinals 3 games to 2. The reason I ask is that when I worked in Hartford Connecticut the city threw a parade for the Whalers who made the playoffs for the first time since 1980 when they finished 4th in the Adams Division in the 1985-86 regular season and swept Quebec in the 1st round but lost to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadians in which Hartford pushed the division finals to 7 games. The city was so excited they threw a parade for the team. The radio station I worked for had a Walrus as a mascot and the guy who was to wear it in the parade got sick and I drew the short straw to replace him in the parade which was cool because I had never been in a parade before. Hey, that experience came in handy when I got to drive the Pickle van in the Uniontown Veterans day parade back in 2016. I must have done a good job because I ended up driving the Pickle Van in the Greensburg Christmas parade that year too. As for playing the mascot, well those days are behind me. Hey I’m no spring chicken anymore and besides our mascots a Parrot which the last time I looked is a bird too so case closed. So is Buffalo going to hold a parade for the Bills?
