It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and you know despite all the ad’s for auto part stores with some even offering to order the part you need made me wonder if the day of working on your own car is slowly coming to an end or has it already arrived? I took auto mechanics in high school hoping that if I needed to work on my car I would have some knowledge as to what I was doing. Of course, cars back in the day were about as complicated as the Flintstones mobile and didn’t have all their vital parts jammed so tightly together under one hood. Right now I can still change the oil on my car but it’s a bit more complicated on my wife’s car so much so that after spending about a half hour just trying to locate the drain plug I had to go on line just to make sure it had one. It had one alright but behind a huge covering that if it was a snake would have bitten me. I had a similar experience with another car I used to have where I had to go on line just to locate the oil filter because it wasn’t under the engine. It was located on top which blew me away but did make it easy to replace. Then you’ve got my daughter’s old car where you had to take the front tire off the car just to get to the battery and that was her old car. Who knows maybe you have to pull the engine to replace the battery these days. A friend of my brother-in-law talked about changing a headlight in his jeep but had to take the front end of the vehicle off just to reach it. I had to buy a special tool just to take the plastic lens off my wife’s car just to get to the burned out tail light. Even brake jobs are getting complicated with all the electronic gizmo’s involved in some anti locking systems and forget about trying to get the the ABS light that wont go out replaced unless you wanna rip the entire dashboard apart. So yeah the part store may have the part you need and if not they’ll order it for you but replacing it might not only require some auto mechanic know how but a degree in electronics too.
