It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…what’s the old line, don’t make fun of my family. Only family can make fun of family? Something like that, well I guess you could say the same thing about disasters, if it’s yours you can have fun with it but anyone else doing so would be like stepping over the line. The Atlanta Braves stepped over that line the other day and have apologized. It seems they played the song “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by the Scorpions during a game against the Miami Marlins. CBS claims the team is now offering free tickets to any Marlins fans fleeing South Florida and Hurricane Irma. So would selling Irma-themed cakes be in bad taste? Maybe if they were sold in Atlanta but not in Florida because some Publix grocery stores are selling them. The cakes are blue and have a red, yellow and light blue hurricane swirl on top. The cakes read “Go Away Irma” and “Party Like It’s A Category 5. Hey they sold “I survived hurricane Gloria t-shirts when I was in Connecticut back in 1985 and thought nothing of it. Meanwhile 5 million Florida homes and business have no power and some officials say electricity-generating facilities might not be operating at full capacity for weeks as Irma which is now listed as a tropical storm continues to lash out at Florida and Georgia leaving flooding in the Southwest as the biggest concern especially for first responders who continue to provide assistance to victims and whose unselfish work, a lot of times, goes unnoticed. Meanwhile it’s First Responders month here on the pickle. So if know someone who has gone out of their way to help others in need let us know.
