It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…so I guess Pirate season officially comes to a close with the Steeler’s kicking off the 2017 campaign today. Sure the Buc’s still have to play out the schedule but interest in what their doing between now and the end of the season are starting to fade if it hasn’t already for some folks. Now die hard fans will be with them till the end no matter how they finish but for many others their attention is shifting towards football. At least last year at this time we were hoping that the Pirates could at least finish the season at or above .500 after 3 consecutive years of not only finishing the season with a winning record but also getting a chance to watch them in the post season. As of this writing, Sunday morning September 10th the Pirates are 9 games under .500 at 67-76, 10.5 games behind the division leading Chicago Cubs with 19 more games left to play. Hey I hope they prove me wrong and while their window of ending the season on a positive note like winning more games then losing which will still keep my interest because it could happen, that window is slowly closing and it’s looking like for the 2nd year in a row they will end the 2017 journey under .500. Lets just hope they don’t make a habit of that again like they did from, oh I don’t know, 1993 to 2013.
