National Teachers appreciation week…

…is the first week of May and got me to thinking about my 1st grade teacher Mrs. Reed who along with my mom made sure that I wasn’t going to have to repeat 1st grade. I wound up in the Hospital and needed an operation thanks to an ear infection called Mastoid. It kept me out of school for about a month but thanks to her she fed my mom everything I needed to know to keep up with what was going on in class so that when I eventually returned I didn’t miss a beat. Then there was Mr.Curitas, my 7th grade science teacher who was a pretty cool guy and for some reason had the Jefferson Airplane Surrealistic Pillow album propped up against the black board but he just couldn’t keep my attention in class and as a result I spent most of it staring out the window and despite parent teacher conferences I had to repeat the class in the 8th grade but thankfully with a different teacher, a Mr. Bernadino or as everyone called him Mr. B. and while Mr. Curitas was cool, Mr. B. was super cool and very entertaining and made learning fun. So much so I got through the year with nothing less the B’s. Got a teacher you’d like to nominate for National Teacher Appreciation Week. Then get all the information you need right here at our website or call the station at 724-938-2000. You’ve got till April 20th to submit a name.
