…or sad that Hollywood’s biggest night even had to be controversial. Warren Beatty knew something was wrong right off the bat when he read the envelope and took a long pause as if to read it over again to make sure that what he saw was real. Instead of reading best picture he was reading Emma Stone, La La Land. Stone had just won best actress. He could have easily said something is wrong and ask for clarification but instead he looks at co presenter Faye Dunaway in that typical Beatty look of confusion and she’s probably thinking, “oh great here’s that typical Warren Beatty look of confusion” when she said, “your awful” to which the crowd laughs at that typical Warren Beatty look of confusion too which he truly was, confused. So he hands Faye the envelope hoping that she would also see what he was seeing but instead she only saw what she wanted to see, the title of a movie and that’s what she blurted out La La Land. Oh, and that’s not the only faux pas, the annual In Memoriam Reel had a photo of a producer who is still very much alive. Well, at least the ratings…oh, never mind they weren’t so good either, lowest rated in 9 years. Guess it wasn’t so La La laughable for Hollywood last night.
