It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

…and I think my blood pressure finally came down but it was pulsating big time after what was called “the game of the week” and man did it live up to its billing. The Steelers on a 3 game losing streak facing a team they haven’t beaten in 7 years while the Patriots came in having never lost back to back games in Dec since 2002. Talk about a game that went right down to the wire when Tom Brady’s final pass on 4th and 15 with 20 seconds to play had the Stadium rocking at ear splitting levels lifting the Steelers Defense to an even higher level from which they were riding all game long batted down a pass in the end zone to preserve a Steelers victory. To think the much maligned defense held the high powered Brady offense to just 1 touchdown, just one touchdown all afternoon long. The game even featured heroics from Chris Bozwell who after missing an earlier field goal came thru with one to force New England to have to go the length of the field to score a game tying touchdown. And damn didn’t it look like they were going to do just that with 2:30 to play but the Steelers Defense again set the tone. To think they forced 5 straight punts against New England causing all kinds of confusion and you gotta think the Steelers nation helped in sowing a little confusion. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them as loud as they were during the game. One Patriot player was so frustrated that he flung a Steelers shoe 50 yards down field that the officials conveniently missed. What a great win. It doesn’t get any easier next week traveling to New Orleans but imagine the mind set if Pittsburgh lost. But instead the momentum from yesterday’s win is definitely on their side heading to the Big Easy where it wont be easy facing the Saints. Oh one more observation. I never noticed how short Ryan Switzer was until I saw him standing next to Big Ben. Then again a lot of people would look short standing next to Big Ben but I swear Ryan looked like he was only 10 years old which is cool because he plays like he’s 10 feet tall.
