It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

this being the 3rd Tuesday of September it’s “take a loved one to the doctor day” not go to the doctor day but take a loved one to the doctor. “Come on now yinz gotta go to the doctor, get in the carr”.  “Why I’m not sick?”  “Come on now, don’t be difficult with me n’nat, I love yinz and its take a loved one to the doctor so come on we’re going to the doctor”.  To be honest I’ve never heard of it but it’s been celebrated since 2002. Who knew? Do doctors even know and if so do they offer specials today? And why would I want to take a loved one to the doctor on a day that if celebrated properly would make for a very busy office visit. And isn’t that always the case when you’ve got an appointment? You sit and wait and wait. Read a magazine or watch TV and sit and wait and wait. Look at your watch or cell phone these days and wait and wait. Then when they are ready for you they take you into another room where you, sit and wait and wait. It’s like the second waiting room only this one doesn’t have any TV or magazines. Thank god for cell phones .Don’t get me wrong I like doctors. I’m glad I can rely on them when I get sick but I don’t like going to the Doctor when I need to go, let alone to celebrate “take a loved one to the doctor day”. Now, yinz git in that car n’nat!”
