It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

with another salmonella warning. This time the CDC is warning Kellogg’s that their Honey Smacks cereal has been linked to 73 cases of Salmonella in 31 states. 24 people have been hospitalized. Boxes with “Best If Used By” dates between June 14 of this year and June 14, 2019 are affected. Wasn’t it just a week ago that we were being warned about pre cut watermelon slices that can give you the funny runnies? Honey Smacks is the cereal with the frog on the box. Shouldn’t something with honey in it have a picture of a Bee for its mascot? I could even understand having a Bear for a mascot but a Frog? Frogs eat fly’s not honey. I stopped eating sugary cereals years ago but man when I was a kid not only did I eat sugary cereals I would add more sugar before dumping the milk on it. Even Sugar Frosted Flakes didn’t have enough sugar on it when I was a kid. Course that was back in the day when sugar wasn’t bad for you. Oh no, sugar gave you energy! In fact when I played football in high school coaches would hand out Chocolate Hersey Bars and Coca-Cola at halftime to get you pumped and ready to play the second half. Who knows maybe one day we’ll find out sugar is good for you again. It’s that High-fructose corn syrup you gotta watch out for. Man, talk about getting side tracked. Now, what was that about salmonella?
